"A University of Michigan team led by Dr. Kensall D. Wise, director of the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center for Wireless Integrated Microsystems (WIMS) has developed a cochlear implant based on thin-film electrodes for direct stimulation of the auditory nerve.
