Help out the 'Sending Afghanistan Firefighting Equipment' project

I received this email and thought I'd pass it along in case anyone here is able to help:

"Dear Sir or Madam:

Langford Fire Rescue, along with the Canadian Forces and Colwood Rotary, is heading up the Canadians Sending Afghanistan Firefighting Equipment (SAFE) Project. In short, it is a plan to greatly enhance the safety and effectiveness of firefighters in Kabul Afghanistan by sending them equipment and providing them training. We are looking for your support to make this project a success.

I am pleased to report that we exceeded our equipment goal and have equipment which is valued at approximately $322,000.00 Canadian (if bought new) awaiting our arrival in Camp Julien:

150 sets of Turn-Out Gear
76 SCBA Air Cylinders
24 MSA (BMR) SCBA units
1 Bauer Air Compressor
65 Helmets
30 pairs of Boots
20 pairs of Gloves
29 Portable Radios with chargers
Children's Art Supplies for 5 schools.

Our team has developed a flexible training package to enhance the skills of their firefighters with this new equipment. We will also be delivering Canadian children's art work to schools in Kabul and collecting some examples of Children's Art from Kabul to share in Canada. We will also be professionally recording our journey on video and will be sharing our trip with you through our local media when we return. All of this will take place in September.

As of today we only need $3000.00 to make this trip a success.

Charitable receipts will be issued for any donation through the City of Langford.

Cheques can be made out to:
