Dave needs a better version of Yahoo Groups for some of the communities he's a part of.

He doesn't have to look any farther than his own platform for that. Conversant has it. Each Conversant conversation has a full mailing list ala Yahoo Groups, and like YG it has a complete (customizable) web interface for browse, search and post. The whole thing is also mirrored (read/write) using NNTP (ala usenet). And of course it's got weblogging, RSS, a wicked XML-RPC API, and it's extensible with UserTalk-based plugins.

And, it sounds like it will soon be available for download/purchase.
