Globe and Mail: Intuit Canada acquires MYOB Canada
"Intuit Canada Ltd. has acquired MYOB Canada, a maker of accounting software for small business. MYOB Canada's parent, MYOB Ltd. of Australia, said the purchase price was $9.1-million. Edmonton-based Intuit Canada is part of Intuit Inc. of Mountain View, Calif., which produces QuickTax, Quicken and QuickBooks financial management software and Web-based products."
Huhhh? How's that gonna work? I just sent Intuit this message:
"I just read that Intuit Canada bought MYOB Canada. This concerns me greatly. I'm an MYOB customer because they have a Macintosh version of their software and you don't.
I am very concerned that Intuit will kill the Mac version, leaving me totally without a Mac business accounting solution, and leaving me wondering whether or not this acquisition is anti-competitive in nature.
I look forward to hearing from you soon regarding the future of MYOB for Macintosh in Canada. Thank you for your time and attention."
