MP3.com: Instant Listening

"MP3.com and Cheap-CDs are proud to offer Instant Listening, a revolutionary new program that lets you instantly listen to your new CD purchases online."

YES! This is awesome. I don't see how the RIAA can work around this one. And even with the tiny shipping cost of Cheap-CDs, it's still cheaper than buying CDs at the local shopping mall, and I can download MY music in MP3 format right away. So this new service is even better than the BeamIt-based My.MP3.com announced in the summer of 2000 that I was excited about.

Thanks for pointing me towards this, Dan!

Of course, the kicker is not all CDs are "instant listening enabled", which means MP3.com hasn't signed agreements with all the labels yet for this. I wasn't able to find a single CD on Cheap-CDs that I wanted to buy, tonight, that was enabled. However, if somehow I got amnesia and was tricked into believing I liked Mariah Carey, then I'd be happy as a clam!
