Politics needs an upgrade

I know traditions are sacred, but progress is good too.

It's about time governments dropped the centralized systems they have in place and adopt a 21st century approach.

The Capitol building and the House of Commons (etc.) become historical museums. Politicians meet and collaborate virtually, using advanced videoconferncing and other groupware systems.

Not only will you not have a dangerous concentration of leaders in one place, but, your representatives can be where they belong, in the state or province they represent, close to their constituents and concerns.

I realize the current batch is in no position to do this, technology probably isn't even ready yet (especially the redundancy aspect of it), and that it almost certainly won't happen any time soon, but I think this needs to happen eventually and there's no time now to start.
