The building managers where I work (we sublease our space) want everyone with a window to close their blinds so that the heat from outside is reflected back outside instead of into the building, which contributes to higher demand for the air conditioning system.
I wonder if they've balanced the cost of their air conditioning system to the cost in lost productivity by depriving their own employees of sunlight during the work day.
There is a correlation between lack of exposure to sunlight and depression.
