Late-evening update:

I got a lot more responses today about Saturday's questionnaire. I should have known better than to do that on a weekend ;-)

I think every single message I got on the subject contained the word "voice" or "perspective", as in, those were the things that attracted readers of this site to weblogs in general.

That's good, because it helps justify the effort I try to put into annotating links.
