Evening update:
Dave Winer, on Scripting News: "My opinion only: There's a niche for Be. Now that they are public, they can offer cheap stock to developers who deliver apps. Linux can't do this, and Microsoft never has."
Me: Um... Linux can't IPO - it's not a company! However, Red Hat Inc, is, and they're doing just that. Check out this slashdot article which suggests that Red Hat is giving Open Source contributors a first-crack at their stock before the rest of the world can raise the prices out of their reach.
Oh, and congrats to Be! It's too bad that JLG had to give up control of the company to keep it alive, mais - c'est la vie, non?
