Review: South Park's 'Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics'

Review: South Park's 'Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics' -- "Simply, this is the ultimate stocking stuffer for the most fucked up member of your family."

That'd have to be me...

Proposed Enhanced XML-RPC Standard

via Scripting News: A Proposal for an Expanded and Enhanced XML-RPC Standard (not by UserLand)

The enhancements Randy suggests look quite reasonable, he's trying to push logic out of the server handlers and user of the client, and into the transport (client and server). That means most (if not all) his goals could be achieved with more logic in the layers above the client and below the server. Not the best place for this kind of logic, but at least it wouldn't change the standard.

I'm really surprised Randy didn't include any new datatypes. NIL is a datatype supported by a few of the implementations already, and a LOT of people have begged for a tag that would let arbitrary XML tags into the request/response (without escaping them in a string datatype).

Vertical Limit plain stupid

Vertical Limit plain stupid -- "So, if a major motion picture like 'Vertical Limit' can't even get the appearance of the white stuff right - which it can't in key cave scenes - they are in for a rough time in the Great White North. "

A mountain of cliches

New heights -- "There's a great deal to be learned from the mountain rescue thriller Vertical Limit. At 26,000 ft., tears don't freeze, breath doesn't crystallize, makeup remains pristine and love blossoms."

I think we have a winner folks! ;-)

TOMB RAIDER

The Tomb Raider teaser trailer was released today.

I watched through this trailer (Jolie rocks!) and then saw, "In theatres everywhere, June 15th".

JUNE 15th!! I have to wait over 6 months to see this movie! Augghhh.

Florida Supreme Court orders recount

Just in: Florida Supreme Court orders recount -- "In a stunning split decision, the Florida Supreme Court Friday cut Republican George W. Bush's lead in the state's presidential race to 154 votes and ordered a manual recount of at least 43,432 "undervotes" around the state. "

Whoa.

An hour later it's pretty clear it's total chaos at this point. Sad.

AIM for Windows sucks

Why is AOL Instant Messenger for Windows so crappy compared to the Macintosh version?

The Mac version is fully scriptable, has text-to-speech, has an option to automatically log your sessions, and has Buddy Alerts, which let you perform a custom action when a user logs in.

I'm sure that's not all, but it's more than enough.

Hocus-pocus on RSS-DEV

Someone forged a message to the RSS-DEV list.

http://www.egroups.com/message/rss-dev/1293

The person who sent it was staying in the New Orleans Hilton, currently the site of the eDevCon and CNET conferences.
