Who does George W. Bush think Jean Poutine is?

Don't know what poutine is? Here's a description from a fellow who went to the same university I went to.

Note that not everyone agrees with that description. They're right too! I can get poutine at a number of places in Victoria... which is just about as far away from Quebec as you can get in Canada. A&W and New York Fries sell poutine, for example.

I can't believe A&W Canada doesn't have a website! And A&W America's (a different company altogether, apparently) site is completely targetted to franchisers rather than customers.

I have to take back the comments I made earlier today about cheering for whatever team Ray Bourque goes to. I just heard he's been traded to Colorado! (BTW, I've beaten SLAM! Hockey and CNN/SI to this news)

Since Colorado is in the same division Edmonton is, they'd have to get through Edmonton (theoretically) to win the Stanley Cup. I was certain he'd be traded to a team in the Eastern Conference, where the Oilers could (theoretically :-)) meet them in the finals. Well... sorry Raymond, but until the Oilers are out of the playoffs, I'm cheering for them. But if the Oilers lose, even by the hands of the Avalanche, I'll cheer for Colorado. But just this once!

Update: I beat CNN/SI by only about 2 minutes :-)

I don't have a DVD component for my "home theater" (cough) yet. Why? I'm waiting for the PS2! (No, not the PS/2, silly...)

And I definitely have to wait. But mark my words, the wait will be worth it!

Robert points to ThinkFree Office today. I signed up... it definitely has potential. It couldn't read my .doc files like it ought to be able to, so I hope it improves!

I've narrowed the list of teams I really want to win the Stanley Cup to two.

The Edmonton Oilers (of course)
Whichever team Ray Bourque is a member of on March 15th.

And if the Oilers should happen to meet that team in the finals? Well... I'm still probably rooting for the Oilers, but I'd feel bad about doing it! :-)

FOUR minutes of ads at the front of the Tarzan DVD... which you CANNOT skip past! Ridiculous. Disney really doesn't get it.

ACI US's academic program appears to be a response to Apple's WebObjects academic pricing. Now both are $99 for the high-end licences. With WebObjects, that means getting a $50,000 US product (unlimited tpm multi-processor deployment license) and a $1,499 product (development seat) for a grand total of $99.

Geez, I woke up this morning thinking it was Monday. I guess staying up 'til 2 in the morning screwing around with one's website can feel like spending a whole day! Yay, it's still the weekend!

Dan's Daily Doozer is back! He rants about intolerance and racism. Dan, I would have said the same thing in English class...

Yesterday was "Tourist in your own Town" day in Victoria. I'm not kidding, that's what it's called!

Cheryl (my wife) and Cyan (my 2 year old darling), myself, and our friends Alex and Ruth went to quite a few cool places! (for cheap too)

First, a tour of the city on a double-decker bus. Lots of good historical info on that tour -- if you're ever in Victoria, go on that tour, it's really worth it.

Then, the Royal British Columbia Museum. Also excellent! Haven't been there in about 10 years I imagine. IMAX was sold out, but the exibits were great!

From there, lunch at the Cheescake Cafe. 3 for 3!

Next, the Royal London Wax Museum. I've never been there, even after living here for over 10 years! Sheesh. I'm going to go back. I was rushed today.

Finally, a great boat ride down the Gorge and back to the Inner Harbour. I've always wanted to ride that little boat. It seats about 12 people.

We took LOTS of pictures! Thanks Alex!
