US was offered OBL in Feb 2001

During a February 27, 2001 press conference at the White House, Ari Fleischer, the White House Press Secretary was asked by a reporter:

"The Taliban in Afghanistan. They have offered that they are ready to hand over Osama bin Laden to Saudi Arabia if the United States would drop its sanctions, and they have a kind of deal that they want to make with the United States. Do you have any comments?"

Ari's response...

"Let me take that and get back to you on that."

Oh.... so 9/11 wasn't Clinton's fault, and it wasn't Bush's fault, it was Ari Fleischer's fault! Clearly he didn't let Bush know, because anyone that had an offer for Osama bin Laden and didn't take it would have to be considered criminally negligent... no wonder Ari quit in 2003.

At least that's been cleared up.

Oh, almost forgot, here's the video of that press conference, check this out...
