MySQL ruffling feathers big time

Open source lock-in -- "A MySQL licensing change sends ripples through the open source community"

MySQL changed their native client libraries from LGPL to GPL, meaning any application that uses the native client libraries either has to become GPL itself or pay MySQL AB a license fee.

Doesn't really affect me, since I don't use MySQL and don't plan to... but it obviously sucks for those who do.

Do you think MySQL AB will end up regretting this decision?
