Brian’s got a backyard rink
I'm so jealous! My good friend Brian MacKay's son is building a skating rink in Brian's back yard.
I really miss being able to skate on outdoor rinks. In grades 5 and 6 I lived right next door to the elementary school I went to, and there were two outdoor rinks on school property, complete with boards, benches, ice scrapers, etc. We used to go skating and play hockey on those rinks all the time. That was great. I wish my kids could have those experiences, but it won't happen living in Victoria.
