No good deed goes unpunished
CNN: Congress to review TSA after box cutter incident
This is not how you get the public on the side of law enforcement. It was a foolish thing to do, but put him in jail for 10 years for it? Absurd. If they lock him up, the cost of his imprisonment should come right out of the salaries of TSA and FAA directors.
Update: Seth says: "The crime he committed could get up to 10 years, but the government already stated that they're not asking for ANY jail time, and they believe that no harm was intended." Seth heard this on NPR. If you find a link to this info that I can point to please let me know.
Plone Conf Group Picture
On the final day of the first Plone Conference in New Orleans, a group picture was assembled. I think about 2/3 of the people there were in this picture. There's probably 3 or 4 times as many Plone developers and users in Europe than in North America, where this conference was held.
The last Python conference attracted about 300 people, or so I heard. It doesn't take much to realize that Plone is a leading force in the adoption of Python and Zope. It's a killer app on top one of Python's killer apps, Zope.
