Microsoft ceases development for 2003

If I remember correctly, Microsoft shut down development for a month in 2002 to address security issues.

It's pretty clear they should have shut down development for at least a year, not a month. Here I am trying to fix my dad's W2K box that got W32.Blaster.

I've run the removal tool, but now I can't install the MS patch because I don't have SP2 installed. My attempts to download it have so far failed, both IE and Mozilla claim the download has completed before it has. He probably has other viruses on this computer too.

I hate Windows.

Open-Sourced ERP using Zope

IEEE IT Professional: ERP5: A Next-Generation, Open-Source ERP Architecture

Thanks to Mark for bringing this to my attention. These people have come up with a very robust, open-sourced ERP system using Zope.

It's very gratifying to read about their architecture and see some of the components they're using, because they are the same ones that we chose recently on a Zope/Plone project we're working on. And to think all of those components are now also available to Zope developers, that's a marvelous gift.
