"If Wrox does bite the dust, my condolences go out to all those authors who won't be seeing any royalty checks at all from here on out."

The only royalty checks I've seen are from Amazon.com. When you work on a book with around a dozen authors, apparently the royalty checks are too small for them to bother sending you a share of.
