Why doesn't Zope 2.6 work on Python 2.2? What changed in Python 2.2 that made it incompatible, or, what is broken in Zope to make it incompatible?

I want to install it and learn something about it, but Jaguar has Python 2.2, not 2.1. So does a Linux server I have access to.
