FMPro adaptor for WebObjects

Very very cool. 360works has released a JDBC plugin for EOF called WooF for access to FileMaker Pro in WebObjects 5.x.

I remember back in 1999, a friend of mine was trying to write an FMPro EOAdaptor for Mac OS X Server 1.0 (Rhapsody) that would communicate with FMPro on a remote MacOS Classic machine via a Classic sockets proxy app that would in turn talk to FMPro over AppleEvents. A gross hack but it was a lot of fun to try to get working. :)

Try out WorkStrip X

I downloaded WorkStrip X earlier this week but didn't install it until this evening. It is freaking cool.

Super duper cool. It's not perfect, but very excellent and definitely worth supporting.

Nothing has changed at Microsoft

ZDNet: 3D graphics world shaken by patent claims

Further proof that Microsoft has no intention to stop doing the things that got it in trouble. It's time to dismantle Microsoft once and for all.

Monday’s the day

Yesterday Mom and Dad saw the Neurosurgeon again. He explained the procedure in detail, and told them it is scheduled for Monday. Apparently he'll have up to 10 years of pain relief from this. Hopefully he won't have to wait in agony for a year to get a 2 hour procedure done next time!

It could have been done sooner but Dad's blood pressure is too high right now to do it. He's staying in the hospital this weekend, they'll do whatever they can to lower his blood pressure.

It'll be great to have Dad back again.
