Hard Drive move

Does anyone know if it's possible to move a 20GB IBM TravelStar in a Lombard PowerBook to a Pismo PowerBook and have Mac OS X "just work"?

Will Mac OS X need to be reinstalled to make the Pismo boot it? Are there any files, video drivers for example, that need to be copied onto the drive before moving the drive? Will DVD Player work in OS X on the Pismo from that installation or will OS X need to be reinstalled?
