drug amnesty for ice dancers

The reader had an idea for making the ice dancing routines more interesting for 2006:

"I suggest the IOC introduce a drug amnesty for the skaters. My idea is to allow them to use marijuana, ecstasy, mescaline or LSD for the 2 years leading up to major competitions, with the view to enhancing the creative and artistic components of their performance."
