He lists SCNS (Simple Cross Network Scripting) as one of the items. UserLand never implemented the idea as described in the article linked to below. :-(
Instead of making an XML-RPC call by calling betty.rpc.client(with a bunch of complex parameters including a reference to a table with the parameters for the remote procedure) you just call (as per Doug's example) ["xml-rpc:server:port/path"](parameters).

Doug is an innovator, and he wants things done the right way. I can't wait to see what Doug comes up with!
