Six ships and six aircraft, plus about 2,000 air and navy people, and an anti-terrorist commando unit, more than anyone had expected, more than the allies had asked for, more than anything Canada had done since the Korean War.

In fact, Canada's participation is the third largest in the coalition, right up there behind the U.S. and Britain, and ahead of Australia, France, Germany and Russia.
