Overloaded Merlin

Steve Anglin on the O'Reilly Weblog:

"In this article, Microsoft unveils its new Merlin software. Wait a minute, Sun also unveiled its Merlin software recently. This could be the beginning of a trademark and branding battle."

Merlin is just the code name for the new WinCE. I don't know what Sun's "Merlin" software is. Either way, Merlin was already used before. Merlin was the code name for OS/2 Warp v4.

1984/MS satire

There's a great Windows/Justice Dept./1984 satire on JohnHLincoln.com. You've gotta see it. (QT req'd)

To be honest, I'm shocked there isn't more backlash about the MS/DOJ situation in the tech community. If I wasn't so tired this week I'd be ranting about it.
