Oilers Said to Have Acquired Rights to Flyers’ Lindros
NYTimes: Oilers Said to Have Acquired Rights to Flyers' Lindros
Here's the article that announced word of the deal. This is still too weird. I can't believe the Oilers would even want the guy. He's a manipulative spoiled brat with an ego the size of Ontario (no wonder he wants to play for the Leafs). I can't imagine many players on the Oilers, nor many Oilers fans in Edmonton have much, if any, respect for him.

@store digitalHipps / keyBORG -- replacement keys for PowerBook keyboards.
I'd love to have the "ghost" keys, which have no writing on them. Having the different blocks of the keyboard colour coded as shown in the diagram would be enough for me, I never really look at the keys I'm typing anyway.
No deal reached for Lindros
CP: No deal reached for Lindros
The OILERS? Oooiiilers? The Edmonton Oilers? The .... Oilers were considering Eric Lindros? Seriously? Wait, did I read that right? The OILERS? Umm, hold on, I think that said Eric Weinrich. No, hm, it said Lindros. It actually said Lindros. The small market team, the Oilers (that's the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL, just to be specific), were interested in acquiring the rights to Eric Lindros.
Huh?

So what's the best country in the world for IT? (click to find out. no it's not the USA)
And apparently Canada lost its #1 ranking as the best country in the world to live in. It's now #3.
I leave the country and suddenly it's no longer the best place to live. But hey, USA dropped 3 spots too, so let's give Norway and Australia the credit they deserve.

Hack the Planet Prime: too many secrets
Lots of good links on Hack the Planet today, as usual.
(There, now I won't need to post the links about the Ebook Hacker, Napster switching to its own proprietary format, and Jabber identity concepts. Sorry, but I'm realllly busy today)
Your freedom is slipping away…
...one liberty at a time. And it doesn't seem anyone really cares. Perhaps people alive in the western world today haven't had enough hardship in their lives to realize what they're giving up (I certainly haven't but I try to realize what I'm losing).
You may think this story is superficial, but it's a stepping stone along the way to corporations owning everything you see and do and even own (that is, you think you own it but you really don't).
