Limitless Source of Repair Cells Comes From Fat

"Scientists said on Tuesday a virtually limitless source of cells, from human fat, can be turned into cartilage, offering a good supply of repair materials for people with damaged joints."

Life is not without a sense of irony. With all the fat around my gut my knees should be back in top shape in no time! ;-)

Initial version of OS X to lack some 'goodies'

"Ken Bereskin, the company's OS X product manager, told MacCentral that DVD playback won't be initially available. He also noted that, although X versions of iTunes and iMovie are in the works, they "probably won't" ship on the March 24 OS CD."

EARTHQUAKE!

Update: Ruth says it was 6.2 just south of Seattle!

Update: Andrew says it was 4.7 here in Victoria. Easily the strongest I've felt.

Holy crap!

We just had an earthquake in Victoria!!! (at 10:55)

It wasn't severe, but it shook my office something fierce -- my monitors were swaying on my desk...

Right after it happened, Andrew, who works downtown AIM'd me:

"did you feel that??? :-( "

What a tangled web I weave…

Was surfing the web today when I found the WebObjects page on the c2.com Wiki. I found it from the What's Wrong With EJB page on the c2.com Wiki. I found that on Lambda the Ultimate which was linked from More Like This.

I also noticed Bill Humphries saw my post about WO URLs on Feb 10th of More Like This. I disagree with his opinion but won't bore you with my reason... yet.

openadaptor

I've been meaning to point to openadaptor.org for a while. Maybe I did, I can't remember.

I wrote an openadaptor-like system last year for a customer of OAAI. It was very cool (IMHO) and openadaptor is too.

The system I wrote is becoming more and more central to their systems. If you're looking for a way to integrate your systems, take a look at openadaptor.

The Relentless March of Computer Abstraction

xml.oreilly.com: The Relentless March of Computer Abstraction

"Ultimately, we can reach a point where a particular Web site's metadata is so rich that an agent can visit the site for the first time, and, by examining the metadata, understand the services and act on them without the intervention of a human being. And won't that be a nice turn of events?"

(nodding head...)

IBM’s rack-mounted PCs

IBM to stack PCs, sardine-style

"Intellistation R Pro is only 1.75 inches high, allowing it to be plugged into a rack with up to 42 other machines. The rack can be located in an out-of-the-way area, according to IBM. Thus, the only desktop hardware required -- aside from displays, keyboards and mice -- is a small box that connects to the remote workstation."

Rack Mounted PCs, the Transnote notepad-notebook. And they say Apple is innovative? Gimme a break.
