Oh wait, there is more to say. Grant doesn't seem to like 'em.

Lots of OS X news

The team at The Mac OS X weblog (of which I'm one) has been doing a pretty good job covering the Mac OS X beta release. Wondering if OS X development tools will be available to non-ADC beta customers or not? Go to the Mac OS X weblog to find out!

Other great sites for OS X news are Xentrum (just found this today), Stepwise, and X Appeal.

Two Koreas, one flag in ceremonies

\Two Koreas, one flag in ceremonies -- "Kim Young-ho, a South Korean fencer who was part of the combined delegation of 180, said he felt "proud of being Korean" and said he hoped it would lead to both Koreas agreeing to form a unified team for the next Olympics."

Okay, I admit it. I actually had tears in my eyes when I saw this live on CBC. I'm a pretty emotional person, as close friends know.

I'm so proud of Korea! This is what the Olympics are about -- unity. I don't care about the commercialism, scandals, etc. I just don't care about that -- the true Olympic spirit is still alive in my heart... I won't let anything ruin it for me.

How Green Are the Aussie Games?

How Green Are the Aussie Games? -- "The city of Sydney won the right to hold the Olympics here this year partly based on promises made in 1993 to make the games environmentally friendly. While noting the successes, Greenpeace points out a number of failures that will degrade rather than preserve the environment at the Olympic site."

Defame Game Serious in Canada

Defame Game Serious in Canada -- "The change in Canadian law came after a landmark court ruling this week when an Ontario Superior Court Justice ordered Internet service provider iPRIMUS Inc. of Toronto to reveal the identity of an anonymous e-mailer. "

This is getting silly

Inprise is Back in the InterBase Business -- "After weeks of silence, Inprise/Borland put out an Open Letter Friday saying it was back in the InterBase business.

Inprise’s turnabout is the latest in a series of contortions that have weakened the already fragile InterBase franchise. "

Sun Finds & Exploits Hole in the Precious GPL

Sun Finds & Exploits Hole in the Precious GPL -- "In e-mail exchanges with Becker (provided to us by the participants, not obtained surreptitiously), Perens added that "We both know that the GPL was not intended to allow this use. Unfortunately, the language of the GPL does allow it.""

TiVo is One Jack Short

via CamWorld: TiVo is One Jack Short -- "TiVo Inc. convinced the world that TV listings are worth $120 dollars a year. The same listings that come free in your newspaper, the same listings that you can browse free at dozens of web sites, are worth $120 a year when they come via modem in the middle of night. You pay ten bucks a month for a service that gives you free data, and while it's at it, it tracks every click of your remote for the marketeers. That's a sales job! The Nielsens must be smacking their foreheads. They have to pay TV viewers to put data collection boxes in their homes--now the same viewers are paying TiVo for the privilege!"
