IKEA hacked

Dear Jim,

We want to inform you immediately that it has come to our attention that there may have been a privacy compromise to your online request for an IKEA 2001 catalog via our U.S. and Canada Internet sites (either www.ikea-usa.com or www.ikea.ca).

We are currently investigating this situation, and we have taken this area of the web site offline until further notice. Your online catalog request was part of a database that may have been accessed by an online perpetrator. The following information could have been downloaded: name, mailing address, phone number and email address. Rest assured that no credit card or financial information was contained in this database.

We are deeply sorry for any breach of privacy that may have occurred as a result of this technical error. This issue is our number one priority and we are taking every possible step to make sure this won't happen again.

We will contact you by email with any additional information.

Sincerely,
IKEA Customer Service
