International e-business

Another great article found via Faisal.com:

Sale means "dirty" in French. -- "Would you open a spiffy new storefront in downtown Yokohama, conduct business exclusively in English and accept only U.S. dollars as payment? ThatÂ’s what most e-commerce companies are doing."

Windows 2000 and QuickTime

Last night I spent hours trying to get QuickTime 4.1.2 installed properly on Windows 2000. No matter what I did, the browser plugins would not be installed, and Windows Media Player refused to give up control of those datatypes.

After much hacking, and manually copying the plugins from my machine onto this new one, I got it pretty much working.

Bastards.
