Wow Duncan, thanks for the kind words! One of the reasons I'm really looking forward to my graduate studies because the professors I'll be working with are really looking forward to working with me!

It was really amazing to have so much support from the professors in my department. Four professors offered to be my supervisor (more might have been interested but I stopped asking), and it was really hard to have to turn down the ones I did, because they're all great and so nice to me.

I'll have two supervisors, one whose interests are in compiler technology and virtual machines, and one whose interests are in systems/concurrency/distributed computing/programming languages.
