You're over-simplifying this, but I guess you know that.
This is more like a Chevy Cavalier that's susceptible to a
self-replicating robot designed to attack just the Chevy Cavalier.
I have problems with all the holes in Microsoft's software, too, but if
you must place blame for this problem then target the worm's authors
first, then the sysops who didn't keep up with the software patches,
then finally you can target Microsoft for producing software with bugs.
Everybody should use open source databases and operating systems, since
they don't have security bugs.
