RE: Waiting to register for September classes

I got in touch with the right person at UVic, and they had a programmer(?) fix my status in the Banner system. I'm finally registered in my classes for next year. (Thank goodness)

RE: Waiting to register for September classes

The provision on my admission has been removed, but due to a bug in UVic's new school information system (Banner), I was not given a registration ticket when the last provision was removed, and I'm still not able to register in classes.

Unfortunately the person I spoke to on the phone did not know how to or was not authorized to fix this problem so I had to leave a lengthy voice mail with someone and write them an email.

So now I'm in this limbo state where I'm admitted but still unable to register and unsure when this will be fixed.

Sigh.

Waiting to register for September classes

I was wondering why I hadn't received notification of my registration date for September classes, so I checked the UVic web site and found out I still hadn't been admitted into the graduate program!

I called UVic and they said they were still waiting for an assessment report document from a professor, but I was sure he had sent that in April. I called him and he said confirmed as much. He said he would hand deliver a new copy to the Graduate Admissions and Records office right away. I've since confirmed that happened and I'm told I should be able to register tomorrow.

It turns out registration actually began today, so it's rather stressful because I don't want to miss out on any classes (because they get full) because of this administrative issue. Ugh.

Ode to Dad, the Lost Verse

I was tidying up this afternoon when I saw a scrap piece of paper on the table... some of Cyan's rough notes / brainstorming for her Ode to Dad poem. Here's a verse that didn't make it into the final copy...

Tall about six feet,
Loves to eat,
What an awesome Dad!

She's just full of compliments! ;-)
